Frances Lydia (COX) SWIRE November 27, 1800 - September 28, 1882 The letters on this page were written to Philip SWIRE in Louisiana from his mother Frances Lydia (COX) SWIRE in Jamaica. Frances wrote to her son from the homes of one of her daughters, with whom she divided her time in her later years. She would write either from Home Castle, Stewart Town, or Good Hope, where Elizabeth Ann Coy (SWIRE) PAGE RUTTY lived, or from Falmouth, where Lucy Albertina Sarah Martha Toogood (SWIRE) LITTLEJOHN resided. The letters date from 1871 to 1882, and were always signed as below:
